Rye's Five-Day Slimming Program

The MISA EB Photoshoot is coming up soon and I am pressured to keep myself fit for the next few days. I've been gaining a lot of weight this summer most likely because of OJT and the numerous seminars that I had to attend. I wont discover what my actual weight is but hopefully I'll post how much I've lost for the entire week. I am no expert in weight loss so I'm not sure if this will work or not haha! Oh well, at least I tried! Anyway, here are my do's and don'ts from tomorrow until Friday.

The Makati Life

I remember, back in High School, when I used to ride with my tito after class to fetch my tita in Makati, I would always tell myself that I'll work in one of these buildings someday. Ever since, I always wanted to feel the Makati life because it is so fast paced and you'd see everyone wearing long sleeves or polo barongs to work. The best thing about it is that there's practically a cafe in almost every block.Yes, I thought this was the life... well, until I actually had a chance to experience the Makati life.

Family Lovin'

Hey everyone. I know I haven't blogged in a while but I'm planning something new for my blog. Well this entry is a lot different from my old ones because I wont be talking about lifestyle or how to make yourself happy. Today, its going to be all about FAMILY. This is a little more personal that usual so I hope you guys get something out of it.

The Presidential Blog Launch

Hey MISAns! I haven't been blogging in a while but I have a treat just for you. They say that the best way to let your constituents realize how busy, fun, hard, rewarding the life of being the President is, you need to keep them updated on the latest events, meetings, and just plain get togethers with your colleagues. With this, I officially launch The Presidential Blog.

Want to know what it is like to be the president? This is a way for me to have transparency with the members. I want them to feel like they know what I am doing and how busy it is to be President. I'm not scaring anyone who has plans on being one; I just want these people to see that I'm doing something for the organization.

From time to time, I'll be posting meetings, events, talks, seminars that will let you guys get a glimpse on the life of a president. I want the next President to be aware on the things he/she'll need when he/she gets elected. Who knows, maybe aspiring presidentiables will be more persuaded to run for next year.

Don't worry, I'll still be posting some things for my lifestyle blog. ;) I'll be posting more often really soon.

If You Think You Are Unhappy

Now that my school work is finished, I have more time to blog. I was browsing through my tumblr (http://ryesaidso.tumblr.com) when I came across this post. It really made me feel that all the pain that I'm feeling is nothing compared to how they are living. To all the people out there, if you think you are unhappy, then what do you think they are feeling.

The next set of pictures are from the post that I read that I found the need to share to everyone. The moral of the story is to be thankful for what you have. You may be complaining now but there are others out there who are dying to be where you are right now and feel so much better about it.

Project 365 | Day 14: Cheers!

Sorry for not being able to post yesterday (I just changed the date when it posted but today is actually Saturday). Anyway, yesterday, after the OSA Transition Seminar, I went to Cantina with a few of some MIS people (plus Vane) to eat, drink, and have fun. Boo, Erin for not drinking! We also saw Earl arrive in Cantina waiting for some of his CSB friends. He even treated us one bucket (thank you so much). I had so much fun because its been a while since I last drank with my batchmates. I hope there will be a part two someday.

Project 365 | Day 12: Thanks Be To God

Fr. Arvie preaching about the Gospel of Mark.
So this picture was taken during my usual 4-hour break (9:30-1:30) after hanging out with the freshies. I joined Arvie, Erika, Chelcie, Mica, Kla, and Mia at the Zen Garden to waste more time. They decided to eat and I kinda wanted to play cards. So that's what we did. There was a time when they all decided to study for Theology and took out a bible. It was so funny because we looked like a Bible Study group in the middle of Zen Garden.

Project 365 | Day 11: 1.11.11

This post is a two-in-one post: it's a picture for my Project 365 and my blog post for the day. Just read through the post and look at the pictures.

So today's a very special day for a friend of mine and we decided to spend the morning together. We originally planned it at 8am but I wasn't able to wake up on time. We met at around 11-ish and just hung out in my house. We watched a movie and played Rockband. I had a class at 12noon but I decided to cut it because we were having such a good time. After lunch, we just talked about stuff and had a little sharing time together. Eventually, I had to go to school (my next class is at 4:30pm) so we left.

Thank you for an awesome morning and I hope you had fun. You know what the occasion is so *insert greeting* to you! You know you could always count on me. I'll be a text away.

Sidenote: Yes, I did change the name of the sender. :P

Spending the Last Day of 2010

Goodbye 2010, hello 2011! I'm starting the year right by looking back at my last day in 2010. A lot has happened and there's a lot to blog about. This is 24 hours with Rye: my adventures and nothingness yesterday. These all happened 24 hours before the fireworks were lit and people started jumping everywhere.

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

Side note: This is an article I did for a school project. We were supposed to make a magazine about love. This is one of my contributions. I hope you guys like it.

Recovering from a break-up is a tough experience. You will have to deal with momentary sadness and feel like everything you do will remind you of your past relationship. Don't know what to do after a break-up? Don't know how to "move on" and "let go" and all those other cliches your friends give you? Well, I've been single for four months and I've been through A LOT. To the newly-single folks like me, here's a few advice for you guys.

Them MIS Freshies

Hey!

So today, I went to Eastwood (again) to hang out with MIS freshies. I arrived at around 2pm and they texted me that they were in Johnny Rockets. I've never been there. I never really dreamed about eating there because people say that it was really expensive there. I arrived there and looked at the menu... it was okay. Its not cheap but not as expensive as I expected. I got to order the Half Onion Rings and Half French Fries for P175. It was worth it. The onion rings were gooooood. :> It was a nice place to eat in too cause the waiters/waitresses dance randomly from time to time. Effort with the choreography and all. HAHA!

Its Me Again

Hey guys! I'm back to blogging here in my personal blog. I think that posting stuff here is more private (even though this is public) and only a few people will get to read my posts. Anyway, I think I'll be posting here during the holidays just because I need a place where I could vent out and release all my anger and frustrations about the world (without being reprimanded or getting into a huge fight).

Anyway, let's see if I'll be able to post something tonight.

I just want to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope you had an awesome night!

Feeling tired and sleepy,
Rye

Parents

Let me just rant before I leave for Batangas tomorrow morning.

Just a while ago, I had an argument with my mom. She's mad because she doesn't know who I'm going with tomorrow. I remember telling her I'm going with Khryzette and Juno and some other teammates of mine. She said who other teammates. I was like, "Eh hindi mo naman kailangan malaman 'cause they are the only ones that you know." All she said was, "Kahit na."

I really find her irritating when I'm going out cause she has to know EVERYTHING. I understand her naman cause she's just thinking about my safety but she's just too much. She needs to know EVERYONE. I gave her all the names and then she left.

Then she came back in and said, "Alam mo, kung alam ko lang na sa Batangas kayo, hindi ko na kayo pinayagan." I was like "What's the difference?! Nasa south naman pareho." Tapos she was like, "Marami kasing beaches dun tapos high tide and all."

And then I said, "MOMMY! May common sense naman kami. I'm 20 years old! Matanda na ako! Sana marealize mo yun!" And then I didn't look at her after that. She was staring at me for a while then she left. I'm so fed up with my mom being overprotective. I just wish they would trust me and what I'm doing. I know how to take care of myself so I hope that they understand that. I'm 20 years old. I'm independent. Even if I don't show it at home, I'm so mature. I'm actually ready to live on my own already.

I just hate it when they become all so protective. They can't even trust me to go out with my friends. Hello! We have common sense. We know when to swim or not. We know when to go out or not. We think first. We're not in elementary. We're old enough to take care of ourselves. I hope you see that. I can understand if I'm still in High School pero hindi na eh. I'm old enough to make my own decisions.

I hope you just trust me. Please.

Well, this, my friends, is the bad side of being an only child.
Parents will be parents, I guess.

Anyway, I'll be leaving tomorrow and leaving all my problems in Manila. I'm just gonna have fun while I still can.

Wishing for a fun trip tomorrow,
Rye

An Effort to Gain Strength

Tonight, I had one of the worst nights this semester. It was practically the first time I ever felt so down recently.

Let's just say that I was scolded and harsh words were said to me for submitting my part of a group work so late. I had my reasons. Some that are reasonable and some that are unexpected. But the way that the situation was handled was so inappropriate.

I was verbally attacked. And even if they say that I deserved it for submitting late, I don't think that it was the right way it was handled. I've never been this down since... a very very long time ago. Harsh words were said that were not supposed to be said. Its as if I felt like such a failure and that everything I did was wrong. I was demoralized in a way. I couldn't think straight. I couldn't even study for my Filipino finals tomorrow. Even if I wanted to, my mind just repeats what were said over and over again. I cried so hard in my room. I went outside my house to think and get some alone time. My morale was low.

I don't deserve this. I don't deserve to be treated this way. Yes, I submitted late, but I had an explanation and reason for that. And if only you'd learn to be more understanding to your subordinates, then you'll get the respect that you deserve. I respect you. But after what you've done to me, I feel so demoralized and have no will to work anymore. Even if you'd say that "this is just work, its nothing personal" the things you said were really hurtful and I don't really deserve to be treated that way.

If only you'd understand my situation. I'm already down as it is. You didn't have to do that. I understand that you have to be strict but there's a thin line between being strict with being plain disrespectful. Tao rin ako. May emosyon rin. I just feel like the lines were crossed and that I was attacked. Its hard to not take things personally because what you did was really hurtful.

After getting some fresh air, I went back to watch some Glee. They were doing songs about religion and spirituality. And after that episode, I really felt that I needed someone right now. I really needed strength. And the person who can give us that strength --- GOD. He's there to keep us strong and hear our prayers. He's there to watch over us. He's always there if we need someone to hold on to.

Just a while ago, I prayed. I prayed that I have the heart to continue the last few days of the semester. I prayed that I wished that He'd be right beside me in the next few days. Right now, I really hope for peace in my mind and in my heart. After what's happening with AVC, academics, MISA, and my personal life, I just wish that I had someone there beside me and I'm thankful that He's always right there.

Lord, please give me the strength to continue. Please give me enough heart to finish the things that I've started. This is it, the final stretch, Please keep me beside You. All things, I offer to You. Amen.

Praying and hoping,
Rye
PS: I hope everything turns out fine tomorrow when I wake up.

Those Were the Days

Note that today's actually October 1, 2010 (12:09am). I just changed the date to when this actually happened.

Sorry for not being able to post these past few days. I had a lot of things to do. So anywaaaaaay.

September 24 (last week) was fair day in the Ateneo Grade School campus. Its has been a tradition of mine to go back to the Grade School and visit my childhood. Basically, its like I'm reliving my childhood. Allow me to be nostalgic for a moment... glad that's over. Anyway, the day before, no one wanted to go with me to the fair until I asked Camille and she would love to accompany me. We met at the Matteo Ricci and we were able to tag along a few other freshies to the fair.

Last Cut Well Spent

So, after my "responsible student" day yesterday, I wanted to be an even more responsible student today! Yes! So today is the annual Rhythm in Blue Inter-Organization Dance Competition held in the Irwin Theater. Its gonna be from 6-9pm. Problem is, my only class for the day, Knowledge Management, is from 6-9pm. :|

So this morning I had this dilemma if I should cut or not cause its my last cut for the semester. I thought long and hard about cutting or not then it rained. I don't know the connection but I just found it odd that it rained so hard. Anyway, my blockmates Plurked me (http://www.plurk.com/thatsnotmyname) and told me to go to Juno's house cause they're watching Glee. I already watched Glee this morning but who cares? I went straight to Juno's place and I managed to watch the last 5 minutes of the episode. HAHA I'm still amazed that a Filipina is part of a famous American TV show. Makes me so proud to be a Filipino. Anyway, I had to meet my friends so I went ahead during the second half of How I Met Your Mother.

Here we are at Juno's place: Trisha, Me, Juno, Erin
I went to school because I had to meet up with Ange and Khryzette for RiB. I met them at Colayco Pavillion and we were supposed to leave to eat somewhere around Katipunan but we just decided to play Twister.

Kim, Ange, and I playing Twister. Khryzette gave up already.
We also played Charades. This idea is really cool. I might use this in the future. Anyway, I had to leave them for a while to actually do school work. I met up with some SAD groupmates: Alea, Poti, and Lem and discussed about our deliverable. We're doing fine... I guess. Anyway, I met up again with Khryzette and Ange and we went to line up for RIB already.

Its 5pm and I arrived in the Irwin theater and I didn't have a ticket yet. I saw Chuck lining up in the Ticket Table and I asked him to buy a ticket for me. I felt really happy when he told me that its okay. And I owe him A LOT because the line was so long and people told me that they ran out of tickets for the entire show. IT WAS A JAM PACKED THEATER. We lined up in front of the entrance and the line was getting a bit long already. We met up with Neil, Kim, and Calvin there and we managed to go inside around 6:10pm.

The show started and it began. I'll post a separate blog for what happened during the show. Maybe I'll save it for tomorrow (later) when I have pictures already. Anyway, it ended late around 9+pm. We weren't really happy with some (actually only one) of the winners so we decided to go to Eastwood since we expected the entire Katipunan to be full of people.

We ate at Fazoli's again and just chatted the night away. After that, we decided to play in Power Station. I missed playing that game with the hands and I tried to challenge myself and see if I still know how to play and YEAH I ROCK! I just felt sorry for Khryzette cause she was my partner and I kept on choosing hard songs. HAHA

Me and Khryzette playing Dance Mania
We went home afterwards cause it was already getting late. What a way to spend my LAST CUT OF THE SEMESTER. Yes, I wont cut anymore for the last three weeks of school. This is the last stretch and I promise to be a good student from now on. I had so much fun today and it was a way for me to relax and just chill. Reality is gonna start again in a bit and I have to study my butt off for the next three weeks. Anyway, its getting late and I have to study and sleep. Seeya!

Dancing the night away,
Rye

Freshies Sure Know How to Party!

Last night I got invited to join a freshie swimming party in LGV. It's PatSen's place and is a party full of drinks, food, and WATER. I arrived late cause I waited for Janroe and Jelo (MISAYAW rehearsals). They started around 5pm and I arrived around 7:30pm. AND BOY A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE DRUNK!

Three people in this picture are already drunk. Guess who!

I can't tell much details about the party because its part of this unwritten rule when it comes to alcohol parties: Whatever happens in the party, stays in the party. So I'm pretty much dead if I told anyone about what happened. Anyway, let's just say that there was one person who kept on sharing REALLY personal stuff (as in REALLY PERSONAL). There was also someone who confessed their feelings. There were also a few kisses made. There were a lot of people who can't walk straight... and finally, there were people who took care of them drunk people.

Yes, its such a good way to end the week.

I was able to meet new friends, get closer to some other friends, and laugh, sing, and dance with everyone else. Since I'm the eldest one there, I had the responsibility of being sober the entire time (plus I'm driving home alone tonight so I'd better stay sober) and having to take care of the "victims". I was the person who kept on handing out water to the tipsy people. There was even someone who told me:

"Ano ba! Lasing na nga ako, bibigyan mo pa ako ng alcohol?! Wala kang awa!"

He didn't want to believe that its actually pure water. I can't remember who said that but it stuck cause I laughed so hard after he said that.

I had so much fun last night. You guys sure know how to party! I love you all. And thank you for inviting me. I feel really honored. Kahit ako lang 3rd year doon, you still didn't make me OP. I wanna thank the Sober Club (Janroe, Denise, Nica, Pipoy) for being my party-mates and staying dry the entire party. HAHA Happy birthday PatSen (super advanced), and Enzo and Gabo. I hope I get to go to the next party... I know I'll have fun. :>

Cheers,
Rye

PS: I wanted to post this picture just because I want to and I want to let you know I love you both so much. >:D<

PPS: Thanks Denise Arandia for the pictures! I stole a lot and will be posting here soon. Okay? :D Love you! :D

Starting Over

I think that there is a need for me to start all over again. With all the happenings in school, choir, and even my personal life, I found the need to vent all over again.

You see, blogging has been my emotional outlet back when I was in High School and the latter part of Grade School. It has been though my blogs where I am able to write what I want and pour all my emotions in it. Because this is MY blog, expect it to be biased. DUH! What I write is what my perceptions and opinions are. This is my side of the story.

I've been blogging back then because I really wanted to release all my emotions to keep me sane. I can't keep them all inside me. And now that I'm being stressed so much right now, I think that its best for me to open up another blog site for me to rant and post all the stuff that I wanted.

... Why am I doing this again? I don't need to explain myself anymore. HAHA I'll post about something important in a while. :D
