HOUR 0 : 12am-1am MASTER CHEF FINALE
I was watching Master Chef on TV when my Facebook chat opened. It seems like a few of the MIS freshies were watching the same too. It happened to be the finale of Master Chef and we're cheering for Whitney! We chatted through the entire show until they announced the winner — yay for Whitney! :D I was so nervous when the chicken she cooked fell to the floor and during the tasting part one guy said that its impossible to cook a chicken in under 7mins. When he tasted it, he said it was PERFECT! It was a big sigh of relief for Whitney. IDK, I really didn't want David to win because he's too over confident and arrogant.
HOUR 1: 1am-4am MIDNIGHT CHATTING
After Master Chef, I was still online and got to chat with my friends. Its fun to talk to friends at midnight. They're very hyper and we just laughed about stuff. Another good thing about it is that I got to chat to my crush. Haha! Sorry, I couldn't help myself. We talked about a lot of stuff and then I realized that its already 4am. By 4am, I'm really sleepy and I couldn't take it any longer. So I said I'm going to bed already.
HOUR 4: 4am-11am SLEEP
Who doesn't deserve to sleep? Even though I slept for only 7 hours, I felt like I was sleeping for a day!
HOUR 11: 11am-3pm FAMILY LUNCH
My mom woke me up and said that I had to get ready in a few minutes because we have our annual family lunch where everyone from my mom's relatives attended. I don't even know why we choose to eat out when we lived right next to each other. HAHA! The original plan was to go to David's Tea House beacuse recently, we went there to eat some Peking Duck that my tita really loves. So we went there but the waitress told us that they had no Peking Duck. We left and went to Spring Deer: the place where we usually eat together and have Peking Duck.
What's so special about our family lunch is that EVERYONE'S complete. Usually, my dad wont join family gatherings but it was one of those rare moments that he went with us. We were complete for a change. We had a lot to talk about (something that I will blog next time). It really made me feel happy that we're all together as one big happy family.
HOUR 15: 3pm-6pm PREP TIME
As soon as we arrived home, we started making preparations for the new year celebration. You'd see my mom slicing vegetables, dad cleaning the rooms, and me fixing stuff. Everyone's so busy with the celebration later. Then my mom told me that I'm in charge of cooking pasta for tonight. Its been a while since I last cooked for the family so I said yes. I was chatting with my friends while doing the preparations. By 5pm, I'm ready to cook but dad said I'll cook after mass cause I might not make it in time for the mass. So I just changed my clothes and got ready for mass.
HOUR 18: 6pm-8pm MASS
This is the first time my choir had a mass for new year. I went to Christ the King to meet up with my choirmates and practice for the mass. Its great to see that the tenors are complete this time (after what happened during the Christmas mass, I didn't want that feeling ever again). We were joined by some people from the children's choir which made it even more fun. Raymond, Nico, Patrick, thanks for such an awesome year. :) I, then realized that its already 8pm and I had a lot of things to do before the new year so I rushed out and went home.
HOUR 20: 8pm-10pm FINAL PREP
I went home and I'm still not yet done with my new year traditions. As soon as I arrived, I changed my clothes and started cooking on that pasta. I was able to finish my carbonara sauce an hour after and I must say that this is the best carbonara that I cooked ever!
I then had to place coins at the side of the stairs: a tradition that Filipinos usually do during the New Year. I got a big bag of coins from my tita's room and scattered it all over the floor. It was such a struggle because she said that it has to be in descending order. The coins must be decreasing from the top until the bottom stairs. It was fun because it brings me back to my childhood where I'd count the coins and put them in the stairs.
HOUR 22: 10pm-11:30PM ROCKBAND
After everything, I decided to reward myself by playing Rockband with my cousins. I had fun because made me happy and it is my way of hanging out with them. We don't hang out anymore because they have their own work already and I'm the only one that's stuck studying (well, except for the oldest cousin who's a part-time student). Anyway, while playing we hear fireworks starting to go off outside and they told us that we should go outside already because its almost midnight.
So we went out and the rest is history. We were jumping outside and looking at the beautiful fireworks from our neighbors. It was such a fun night with my family that I forgot about everything. They made me feel so loved and I know that I can count on them anytime. I had such a fun day with these awesome people and as I end 2010, I want to thank God for having these awesome people part of my life. As I close another chapter in my life, I want to thank everyone who has been a part of my 2010 for making everything possible. This has been a learning experience for me and I want to thank you guys for that.
