Samsung Unveils New Sliding Tablet

Technology evolves really fast and after Apple releases its iPad tablet, other companies are thinking of ways to make this more innovative. Just recently, Samsung unveils its first sliding tablet to the public. The new tablet has the features of an ordinary tablet plus a physical keyboard that slides down when you need it.

The Samsung TX100 has a touch screen interface and when you need to create documents, a keyboard is always there just for you. This compact tablet comes with a Microsoft Windows 7 and is powered by an Intel Atom processor. If you are the type of person that is not used to touch screens, there is also a track pad available with the sliding keyboard for navigation purposes. With a 10.1-inch multitouch technology, HD resolution supporting LCD touchscreen, the Samsung TX100 is great for immersive activities such as watching films and social networking.

At first glance, the TX100 looks like an ordinary tablet. But once the keyboard slides down, the interface changes in a way that it looks like an ultra-thin laptop. You can do the same jobs that you normally do with an ordinary laptop. The tablet has built-in photo, video, music, and productivity applications that can do almost all the jobs that your laptop can do.

The TX100 has the functionalities of the Apple iPad and a laptop combined. It is extremely light even if it has a full-length keyboard with only 2.2 pounds. It has two cameras: one in front (if you want to take pictures of yourself) and another at the back. You can also use the tablet for 4 to 9 hours. It also has a USB port for easy connection to your devices. The downside with it is that it only has a 32-64GB capacity which is big for a tablet but not enough for a laptop (but this is still better than a tablet).

The Samsung TX100 is for the people who are usually on-the-go. If you want to pack light, this is perfect for you. This is expected to be released by the end of April in the States (no word on when it will come out in the Philippines, though). Now this is so much better than an Apple iPad and I might save up for this one rather than the iPad 2 that will come out later this year.

Here is a clip of the Samsung TX100 Slider Table Laptop:
